Race Notes:

Central States Challenge at Quincy: A HOT weekend with good results in the can class, but some chain issues in TaG. Drake traveled to Quincy, Illinois to race at TNT Raceway. In both the PreFinal and Feature, chain issues with the TaG created problems for Drake and made for a long day for both driver and dad. In the Yamaha class, Drake had his game on for the Feature and took a very strong second to Hunter Lay at his home track. Not bad considering Drake only got a single 3 minute practice session on the track, as he raced the day before at 61 Kartway in the reverse course race and thus could not be at Quincy for a full day of practice like all the other drivers!

Central States Challenge at Delmar: An awesome weekend for Drake at his home track as everything worked and the karts were fast. With TONS of rubber down on the track, the adjustments were made to compensate and Drake drove to his full potential. A resounding victory in the Jr. Supercan class put Drake on the top podium spot above some very talented drivers. Following the victory, Drake ran a consistent race in the TaG Jr. class and took second in a full field. It was the type of weekend you hope for each time you hit the track!

Route 66 at Delmar Results: Some weekends just don't come together like they should, and Drake had one of those types of events. A couple of mechanical breakdowns plagued Drake in both of his features. After running strong early on in the PreFinals and Qualifying, Drake ran into issues in both of his classes and failed to complete the Features. Fortunately, the track was fast all weekend and Drake is anxious to get back at it this coming weekend with the Central States Challenge visiting his home track.

Points Race 3 Results: Drake had his BIGGEST racing weekend of his career, with not only his FIRST FEATURE WIN at 61 Kartway, but pulling off a DOUBLE WIN, taking both the highly competitive Yamaha Jr. Supercan class and the TaG Junior class. With the kart hooked up, the track extremely fast, and the weather just right, it all came together. A night to remember, that's for certain!!

TaG Shootout Results: Drake ran very well all weekend long, racing faster than he ever has at the challenging track located in Delmar, Iowa. Dropping his times down into the 45.7 range, Drake made huge improvements and truly stepped up his game. While running fifth in the Feature, unfortunately a late apex through corner one cost Drake as he moved out wide on the driving line, and dropped his right rear wheel off the track, thus throwing his chain on lap 5. A truly dissappointing end to the weekend, but such great strides were made, we look at it as a great learning experience. We'll be in the hunt next time!
